Cookie Policy
Version 1 · Effective May 20, 2026
Manage your cookie preferences
Update which categories you allow at any time.
This Cookie Policy explains how MyShahada ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on MyShahada.net and our related services. It supplements our Privacy Policy and applies whenever you visit MyShahada from a browser or mobile device.
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device so it can remember information about you between visits. We use a small, intentionally limited set of cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we never share cookie data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
1. The categories we use
Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to work. They keep you signed in, protect your account from cross-site request forgery, remember your locale, and route traffic correctly. They cannot be turned off because the platform cannot function without them.
Functional cookies remember your preferences so the experience feels consistent between visits. Examples include your prayer-times location, your saved language, theme, and other settings that personalise the interface. These are optional and you can turn them off at any time, though some features (such as remembering your city for prayer times) will reset when you do.
Analytics cookies help us understand how the platform is used in aggregate — page views, session length, broad device type, and the paths people take through the site. We use this to improve features and to find bugs. These are optional, off by default, and set only after you explicitly accept them. We use PostHog as our analytics provider; PostHog is configured not to capture any data until you have granted consent.
2. What we do not do
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell your personal data. We do not allow third parties to set advertising cookies through our platform. We do not run targeted advertising on MyShahada.
Session recording (replays of your interactions with the site) is disabled in our production environment. It may be temporarily enabled in non-production development environments to help our team diagnose technical issues, and is disclosed in those environments.
3. Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie choices at any time from the "Manage cookies" link in the footer of every page, or by clicking the button at the top of this policy. Your preferences are stored on your device and apply to that browser; if you clear your browser data or switch devices, you may be asked to choose again.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will break authentication and other core features.
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices or applicable law change. When we make a material change, we will update the version at the top of this page and, where appropriate, re-prompt you for consent.
