Sahih Muslim 2088d

37. The Book of Clothes and Adornment

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira but with a slight variation of wording:While there was a man who strutted in his two mantles.

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَتَبَخْتَرُ فِي بُرْدَيْنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِهِ ‏.‏
