48. The Book Pertaining to the Remembrance of Allah, Supplication, Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness

Farwa' b. Naufal reported:I asked 'A'isha about the supplication that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) made. She said that he used to say:" O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ دُعَاءٍ، كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَشَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
