Ibn ‘Uqail reported this tradition with a slight change of wording. In his tradition he said:He rinsed his mouth three times and snuffed up water three times.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَقِيلٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ يُغَيِّرُ بَعْضَ مَعَانِي بِشْرٍ قَالَ فِيهِ وَتَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثَلاَثًا .
