35. The Book of Oaths and Vows

Narrated by:'Abdullah bin 'Umar said

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said:"The Messenger of Allah forbade vows and said: 'They do not change anything; they are just a means of taking wealth from the miserly.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ النَّذْرِ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَرُدُّ شَيْئًا إِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الشَّحِيحِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
