46. The Book of Cutting off the Hand of the Thief

Narrated by:'Aishah that the Prophet said

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet said:"The hand of the thief is to be cut off for one-quarter of a Dinar or more."

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ تُقْطَعُ يَدُ السَّارِقِ فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏
